Why We Built Runivi: A Letter From Our Founder
When I think about where Runivi began, I don't think about business plans or product designs.
I think about my father.
I think about being a little girl along with my sister sitting quietly beside him in his studio, watching him work. I didn't realize I was learning anything. I thought I was simply spending time with my Papa.
But I was watching.
I watched him hold a diamond up to the light as though it had a story only he could hear. I watched customers walk in carrying emotions they couldn't put into words — and leave with something that captured them perfectly.
What I didn't understand then was that I was witnessing a legacy. One that began with my grandfather, was carried forward by my father, his brothers, and their sons — and was built on something more enduring than craft alone. On trust, on relationships, and on the belief that if you are going to create something, it should mean something.
Those lessons stayed with me even when my path led somewhere different. My career took me into technology, where I spent years learning how great products are built and how thoughtful design shapes the way people experience the world. And yet, no matter how far I went, I always found myself returning to the same place. Back to the studio. Back to the values I grew up with.
And when I later married into a family with the same deep roots in this craft, I stopped seeing jewelry as simply part of my past. I started seeing it as something that was always meant to be part of my future.
Because jewelry has never been just jewelry to me.
It marks beginnings. It celebrates milestones. It carries a promise, a person, a whole chapter of someone's life — long after the moment itself has passed. The most treasured pieces aren't valuable because of what they're made from. They're valuable because of what they represent.
Runivi was created at the intersection of those two worlds — the legacy I inherited and the perspective I gained. We chose lab-grown diamonds and gemstones because they reflect how we want to build this company — with intention, transparency, and responsibility.
We are just beginning this chapter — though the story started long before us.
And we couldn't be more grateful to share this journey with you. My family and I welcome you into this story — one we are building together, with you at the heart of it.
We promise to craft yours — through quality, through care, through integrity, and through showing up, every single day.
Thank you for being here.
With gratitude,
Nikita Founder, Runivi
